A Week of Rest and Recovery

Today marks a week without training. So what have I been up to? Mrs Niko and I decided to take the kids camping at Byron Bay, which is a beautiful coastal town in northern NSW, Australia. So how do I stay on track when I have a week off training? I continue to eat clean and stay active.

Give that fitness to me is a lifestyle and not just something that I do every now and then I find it easy to choose activities that keep me active.

Whilst I completed no structured training, I made sure that we went for plenty of walks, swam at the beach, kicked the footy and climbed up look outs.

It is weeks like these that put things into perspective for me. If I was unfit or overweight, I would more than likely not be able to complete these activities with my kids. Imagine how disappointing it would be if you could only sit and watch your kids be active, and not be able to actually join in on the fun. No thanks!!!

This week also helped me overcome a few niggling injuries that I had been carrying. I have finished the week feeling refreshed and energised.

Tomorrow brings my Touch Rugby League grand final. I will let you know how we go.
