Touch Rugby League | Hidden Exercise to Help You Lose Weight

Today bought another game of of Touch Rugby League, which is my favourite form of Hidden Exercise. Due to weather and work I had not played for a few weeks, so I was keen to get stuck into it tonight.

My Hidden Exercise Session to Stay Fit & Lean

Tonight was semi-final time. This week my team ‘No Gary No’ played the ‘MIB’ for a place in next weeks grand final. It was a good game with the score at half time being only 1 – 0 in our favour. We ended up running away with it in the second half, eventually winning with a score of 6 – 0.

As I normally do during tonight’s game I concentrated on pushing myself as hard as I could for short 2-3 minute intervals before substituting off for about the same period.

With each half lasting 20mins. This changes a normal game of touch rugby league into a great fat burning HIIT session.

As usual I wore my heart rate monitor. I ended up for the 40min session having an average heart rate of 159BPM burning 595kcals. Not bad for a hidden exercise session!

I came through this game feeling fresh which is a testament to my current training regime. Due to work commitments over the last 2 months I have missed a lot of games this season, however I have managed to keep my fitness levels up due to the alternative cardio session such as crossfit and boxing circuits, that I have been completing.

I am really looking forward to running around next week in the grand final. As we are the defending premiers from last season, there is a bit of pressure on us to retain our title.

I will let you all know how we go!
